The 7th European conference on the Cultural Heritage aims to consolidate the achievements and assess the impact of EU research projects related to the movable and immovable cultural heritage. Emphasis will be on exploiting and extending the results of research on the cultural heritage and on testing the acceptability of new approaches to sustainability and new technologies for the user community, SMEs, owners, managers and restorers or conservationists of the cultural heritage. The Prague conference has been designed to further define the role of research into Europe’s cultural heritage within the international context and as an aspect of international cooperation. It will explore the opportunities for SMEs to contribute to competitiveness and job creation. It will also link support for cultural heritage research to policy needs, and will contribute to the establishment of the 7th Framework Programme through support for the European Construction Technology Platform concept and research infrastructure development. In addition, the wider public will be addressed by means of special accompanying events, in order to ensure feedback and responses from non-professional stakeholders.
